PRO-SHAFT®

FORD YATES NASCAR

The PRO-SHAFT® F6 Series NASCAR rocker arms for the Ford 351 "Yates" head, break all the rules and establish new ones. Why? Ford's biggest mistake in valve train, was adapting the compound geometry Cleveland head, with its staggered valve array to a 289/302 Windsor style block with in-line lifters. The problem with this, as with their 429/460 engine which has similar style heads, is that the exhaust pushrods lay over an additional 5 degrees from the intake's.  The rocker arms are of course laid over on the head, but the misalignment created by the pushrod at the lifter is unnecessary. Jim Miller solved this in 1995, with his Patent Pending (#1) "stretched rocker" geometry, that make the exhaust rocker longer so the pushrod can remain as close to "in-line" with the tappet as possible. The intake rocker is also stretched as needed to keep its pushrods in line with the tappet. The Patent Pending (#2) rocker shafts are Siamese mounted, to allow individual movement for varying ratios, another Patent Pending (#3) innovation, and are secured with 1/2" STUDS (not 5/16, 3/8 or even 7/16"). As with all PRO-SHAFT® (and PRO-STUD™) systems, the rocker bodies employ Alcoa 7150-T7, the same alloy used in Boeing's "777", and incorporate the Patent Pending (#4) G-Plane™ rocker face for establishing precise Installed Geometry with the Valve. The traditional Miller I-Beam rocker body with Twin-Rib beam is utilized to make this the strongest, lightest, and most rigid, lowest moment of inertia aluminum roller tip rocker arm money can buy. Special Order Only.

IN-LINE Machined from Miller's exclusive, ALCOA 7150-T7 Billet Extrusion (33% stronger than 7075); the grain runs length-wise, adding 6x fatigue resistance over conventional "cross-grain" SILHOUETTE extrusions used by other "top" rocker arm manufacturers.

This is the ultimate in STAND Mounted rocker arms. The MILLER MID-LIFT STAND Mount rockers utilize Jim Miller's exclusive 5/8" SHAFTS; full compliment Torrington bearings, Torrington Needle THRUST Bearings; DUAL-RIB Support Beam and of course Dual, Patent Pending G-Plane™ Measuring faces for direct reference to the valve spring retainer for ultimate precision on INSTALLED geometry.
